I was browsing through Pinterest and came across a passage that caught my attention. It begged the question so many have had to ask themselves, to stay or to go.
Among a screen filled with hopeful words and sweet inspiration, I felt pulled to this seemingly long quote. It spoke some of the truest words harsh but real. Something that I think people need to hear, something I know I needed to hear.
To Stay or To Go….
“The truth is that the more intimately you know someone, the more clearly you’ll see their flaws. That’s just the way it is. This is why marriages fail, why children are abandoned, why friendships don’t last. You might think you love someone until you see the way they act when they’re out of money or under pressure or hungry, for goodness’ sake. Love is something different. Love is choosing to serve someone and be with someone in spite of their filthy heart. Love is patient and kind, love is deliberate. Love is hard. Love is pain and sacrifice, it’s seeing the darkness in another person and defying the impulse to jump ship.” -HpLyrikz.com
I myself have been through some tough times in my marriage walking through this exact journey. My husband and I married at a very young age so we grew up into adults as a married couple. We got to see with time who we had actually married since we were kids when we committed to one another. We each had a moment in which we had to make the decision to stay or to go. The decision for each of us was to stay.
I hope this touches some as it did me, and if not today, maybe one day it will come back to you at just the right moment if you are ever left wondering, to stay or to go.
